Meet Rachel

I am a psychologist based in Central Square, Cambridge, Massachusetts. I received my doctorate in Clinical Psychology in 2013. For the past 10 years, I have been practicing trauma focused therapy, utilizing Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). After my initial EMDR training, I became an EMDR certified psychologist, which involves consultation, continuing education, and clinical practice.

Helping people overcome their trauma and find empowerment in the present day is a passion of mine. Our work together will not only help you get past your past, but will also give you the confidence to handle whatever challenges arise in the future.

Along with EMDR, I also incorporate Internal Family Systems, Ego State/Parts work, Relational-Cultural theories, and Mindfulness strategies. I am a certified Yoga Teacher and I love to bring what I have learned through my training and my own practice into my work as a psychologist. I did my Pre- and Post-Doctoral Internship at The Stone Center Counseling Service at Wellesley College, and I have a special interest in working with college students of all backgrounds.

I love this work because I get to witness transformation and powerful shifts in people even after extremely difficult events, ongoing adversity, or growing up in dysfunctional homes.

I help people who have been struggling for months or years with negative beliefs about themselves or the world, such as…

I’m not safe

I’m a bad person

It was my fault

I’m powerless

In our work together, we can move towards healing so your mind and body can return to a place of wellbeing, where you are no longer triggered by old experiences and can let go of old beliefs that no longer serve you.

Instead, you can trust in new beliefs, such as…

I’m safe now

I’m ok the way I am

I did the best I could

I am now in control
